This book is written to resurrect those moments and to restore the meaning of courage as an honored attribute in Wyoming politics. There has never been another time in the state’s history when the winds blew stronger against those who would otherwise act courageously than we witness today. It follows that there has never been a time when recognizing political courage was more important.
McDaniel is the author of four other books. Two were named Non-fiction Books of the Year by the Wyoming State Historical Society; “Dying for Joe McCarthy’s Sins: The Suicide of Wyoming Senator Lester Hunt” and “The Man in the Arena: The Life and Times of U.S. Senator Gale W. McGee.” The other two are “The Sagebrush Gospel” and “Howard Zinn and Lois Mottonen Fistfight in the Equality State.”
